Description:

Position:  ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – SNR

Job Spec:

Purpose:  -

 To manage the electrical power system components of projects in a                multidisciplinary consulting engineering environment.

Key Accountabilities:     

          - Design in accordance with client, technical and statutory requirements

          - Engineering specifications for equipment, systems and work

          - Monitoring of engineering execution, including testing

Requirements:  

                        - BSc Electrical Engineering Degree

                        - Registration as Professional Engineer with ECSA

                        - 7 years general electrical engineering experience

                        - 5 years experience in the compilation of conceptual, basic and detailed electrical engineering packages

                        - Knowledge of Building services systems would be advantageous

                        - Knowledge of SANS/IEC specifications

                        - Knowledge of MV/LV system design practice, switchgear, protection

                         - Knowledge of substation design

                         - Knowledge of cabling, earthing, lightning protection design and practice

-  Electrical cost estimation skills

                               - Ability to interface effectively with client/consultancies and other project parties

                                - Ability to manage electrical work within project schedule and budget
